About Me

I am a wife of Lutheran pastor and mother to 2 boys and 1 girl with a passel of 10 grandchildren. We, my husband Will and I, live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I have survived breast cancer and am now in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease but I won’t let that keep me down. I love to cook and wanted to share my passion with you.

Our children and grandchildren all live out of state so we are considered “empty nesters”. We stay very busy with our church but manage to find time for camping in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter. We also have a 2 year old Beagle, Tillie May, that keeps us running.

My favorite place to be is in the kitchen: baking or cooking. This love was created at a early age. My father was the baker and my mother was the cook in our family. I also had a wonderful Aunt Joanie, who helped foster my love of baking.

The recipes in my blog are mostly family favorites with several of my own creations thrown in the mix. You will find these easy to prepare but very tasty. I think you will find that most of the ingredients in my recipes can be found in your own pantry with a few exceptions.

For several years, Will and I had the DANCING BEAGLE CAFE AND BAKERY in Montana. There I perfected some of the recipes you can find in my blog. We enjoyed the experience until life took us in another direction.
