This recipe is from a friend of mine, Vina Watson, in Rudyard, Montana. It is by far the best molasses cookie I have ever eaten.
I have made these bars for years. They are a real hit in our home and a there are never any left when I take them to a potluck. Once iced they freeze well.
This is something my mother always fixed for Christmas dinner. The whole family loved it. I now make it occasionally since it is very rich. Simple dessert but oh, so tasty.
