Shepherd’s Pie

This is one of those warm dishes you crave on a cold winter night. It is easy to make and quite comforting.


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4-5 cooked potatoes mashed your way
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 4 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon oregano


Sauté beef, onions, carrots and mushrooms until beef is no longer pink.

Add tomato paste, broth, salt, pepper, oregano, corn and peas.

Simmer for 20 minutes.

Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.

Top with mashed potatoes.

Bake in preheated 400* oven for 30 minutes or until potatoes are browned and the casserole is bubbly. Spoon it into a bowl and enjoy!
