Spaghetti Sauce

Spaghetti Sauce

I’m not sure where this recipe came from. I remember my mother always made it. It’s quick and easy and freezes well.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1(1lb) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1(3-4oz) can mushrooms*
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1(6oz) can tomato paste
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 medium onions-chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Brown meat in olive oil then add onions and garlic. Cook on medium heat until onions are soft. Add mushrooms and remaining ingredients. Simmer sauce for about 30 minutes and serve over your favorite spaghetti noodles.

May be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.

*I prefer to use fresh mushrooms instead of canned.
